Roll it

There has been many a quest for a small container to live in. In the past there have been concepts like the Suitaloon by Mike Webb, or the Nagakin Capsule Tower by Kisho Kurokawa, and now students at the University of Karlsruhe developed Roll It, a small, tubular building, of which the function and effect can be changed by simply rolling it over on its side. Hence the name.

The idea in itself sounds almost too easy to produce anything even remotely interesting, but in this case it produced a smart conceptual research into space-efficiency. And at the same time, it produced a interesting built form. For more information, check out the project at detail.de.
