Well, that's what I thought at first: Moscow's trying to claim the fame to the world's largest christmas tree. It's that time of year, right?
Unfortunately, it is not a giant Christmas tree. It is the Chrystal Island project in Moscow, designed by Norman Foster. It's a huge complex: about 2.700.000 square metres of business and leisure. In a 450 metres high building. An even though the major of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov, seems to be really happy that this building will be built in his city (apparently, he even thanked Foster for awarding the building to Moscow instead of Dubai or Kazachstan!), I can just imagine how this destroys the urban fabric, the historical skyline and much more...
